He is the President of the chapter. He runs all house meetings, dinners, and ceremonies. The NR is the spokesman for the house in relations with outside organizations. He shall represent the Fraternity with the utmost loyalty. He must be an Upperclassman and must follow the Alpha Sigma chapter Bilaws and Constitution. The NR must be in constant communication with each and every Brother in the house. If there is a conflict, he must be there to ease it. He is the glue that binds Alpha Sigma of Alpha Gamma Rho and keeps it going strong

His duties include note taking at meetings, corresondence, ordering supplies, taking roll, organizing various committees, and is responsible for contacting actives.

He is in charge of setting up events to bring men in the College of Agriculture to AGR to insure growth and new membership. He compiles lists and phone numbers of interested men, contacts them, and informs them of who we are and the events we have planned. He tries to aggressively follow up on all contacts and attempts to find out if the recruits exhibit qualities that are consistant with the purpose and standards of AGR. Rush is the lifeblood of our house and should be kept as our highest priority.

He is responsible for keeping track of all of the incoming and outgoing money in the house. He is responsible for balancing the budget and figures out the house bills each month.

He is responsible for the well-being and upkeep of the house itself. This includes upkeep of the grounds outside, fixing broken things, and organzing projects to improve the house. He organizes work days, delegates weekly house duties, checks to see that those duties are done, and is responsible for buying cleaning supplies and tools

He is responsible for setting up exchanges, serenades, date parties, philanthropies and all social functions that the Alpha Sigma Chapter participates in. It is his job to also coordinate with our Alumni to plan retreats, tailgates and Founders Day get togethers.

He is responsible for frequent contact with the Chapter's Alumni body, proper maintenance of Chapter Alumni records, the proper observance of Founders' Day and publish two or more times during the year a Chapter newsletter to be known as the Chapter Crescent. He shall request a publication both numerical and alphabetical order, identifying each Brother listed therein as to his year of initiation and his latest mailing address.

He is responsible for maintaining test files for the house, assigning mentors to new actives, attempting to maintain the house GPA, and handling all of the local and national scholarships and awards. Those whose GPA's are acceptable can count on any help requested from him, and those whose GPA's are unacceptable will receive help in any way possible.

He is in charge of educating the whole house in AGR's national and local history, its songs, its traditions, and its purpose. He specifically focuses on the new actives to ensure that they have a solid understanding of our house and what it stands for. This is done with the help of Big Brothers in regular education meetings. He is also in charge of giving the yearly National Exam to all members of the house. In addition, he plans the initiation weekend to ensure that it runs smoothly and so that it is of maximum benefit to the new members of the house
