Hazing
A common concern about Greek affiliation is hazing. All Greek governing bodies at CSUF have policies against hazing. The University has a policy against hazing. It's against the law in California and 38 other states. Congress has passed legislation that keeps an individual who has hazed someone from receiving federal financial aid. Hazing is not tolerated at California State University Fresno or within Alpha Gamma Rho. If you have specific concerns, questions or comments, please contact the Office of Fraternity and Sorority Affairs. For more information about hazing visit StopHazing.org

Leadership
The Greek community is strongly united and growing in numbers. On campus, Greek members have proven themselves as empowered, strong campus leaders. Because Alpha Gamma Rho is self-governing body in which the members take on the responsibilities and offices of the organization, Greek life is a special living and learning environment. The hands-on experience helps members develop leadership, organization and communication skills. Chapters and members interact and make connections with other student organizations and departments on campus. Greeks learn the importance of dedication, working with others, responsibility and self-reliance. In addition, there are many leadership opportunities within the Greek community apart from those within AGR. Whether a member is a natural leader, wants to cultivate his skills or just wants to be involved, Greek life will help him develop their unique, individual potential.

Leadership and Brotherhood Await You
Alpha Gamma Rho is unique in itself, as it is both a social and professional fraternity for men with an interest in agriculture. Founded in 1904 at Ohio State University and the University of Illinois, Alpha Gamma Rho has grown nationwide. It was in 1963 when Alpha Sigma Chapter found a home at Fresno State University. AGR membership does not end during your college years, it is a lifelong brotherhood that continues long after you graduate. Many agricultural leaders nationwide in education, government, industry, and production are Alpha Gamma Rho brothers.

Service
One of the most gratifying aspects of Greek life is the sense of satisfaction and pride that comes with involvement in community service. Greeks throughout North America recognize local and national organizations in need of aid by donating time and money through their special philanthropies and service projects.

Scholarship
Alpha Gamma Rho recognizes that the primary reason for attending Fresno State University is to receive an education. Bringing together men that have a common interest of agriculture also brings together friends in the same classes. These helpful brothers are always willing to study to achieve our academic best. Brothers also have the opportunity to receive financial scholarships through our local Alumni Association.

Social
A big part of college is learning how to meet and work with people. It is often said that the most important part of your education is learning people skills outside the classroom. Through organized social activities Alpha Gamma Rho seeks to provide this opportunity to its members. These social events require planning and cooperation on the part of everyone to make them a success. But the fun and enjoyment make it worthwhile.

Housing
The Alpha Sigma Chapter house in Fresno accommodates 48 men, but currently rooms are at single occupancy.
